  1. I don’t want to be too pedantic (but I’m going to be), but the place is spelled MiddlesBROUGH. According to Bill Bryson’s Troublesome Words it’s probably the most misspelled places name in England, even worse when you think that the area it’s in is known as Teesside (yes, 2 e’s 2 s’s), which is also misspelled frequently.
